Coach U Exhibits at IOC Conference: Showcases “Leader-as-Coach Simulator,” an AI-powered coaching learning tool

ニュース

Coach U, a subsidiary of our company, participated in the “16th Annual Coaching in Leadership & Healthcare Conference”² hosted by the Institute of Coaching¹ (hereinafter “IOC”) in Boston from May 1 to 2, 2026 (Eastern Time), and showcased the AI-powered coaching learning tool “Leader-as-Coach Simulator,” which it is jointly developing with a UK-based company, Ovida*³.

In recent years, as the nature of leadership within organizations has evolved, the importance of coach approach leadership—which supports employees’ autonomy and growth through dialogue—has grown significantly. At the same time, opportunities to gain practical experience through application are essential for acquiring and internalizing coach approach leadership skills.

Developed in response to these contexts, the “Leader-as-Coach Simulator” is a practical learning tool designed to support the development of coach approach leaders through iterative role-playing with AI agents. Based on a robust framework that Coach U has cultivated for over 30 years, the tool delivers a learning experience that leverages the unique characteristics and strengths of both human coaching and AI. With analysis of actual sessions where a leader is applying a coach approach, the leader receives evidence-based feedback from the system regarding their coaching tendencies and areas for improvement. They can then repeatedly engage in role-playing with the “Leader-as-Coach Simulator” in specific scenarios and with specific types of individuals, tailored to the skills they wish to strengthen. By applying what they learn in training to real-world leadership situations and reviewing feedback on results, visualized learning progress, and changes in skills within the system, leaders can achieve continuous improvement in practical coaching skills. For companies, utilizing the “Leader-as-Coach Simulator” enables the rollout of learning opportunities across the entire organization while keeping training costs low.

Our group will continue to strive to create new learning experiences that support the growth of individuals and organizations through the integration of AI technology and human coaching.
